Is stress stopping you from achieving your goals?

Have you experienced a decrease in energy, frequent headaches, aches, body pains and tense muscles?
These are all symptoms of a very familiar condition...
And I'm not talking about the flu or the common cold...
I'm talking about stress.
In a recent survey it showed that a whopping 78% of Indians surveyed reported at least one symptom of stress. In addition to being unpleasant, too much stress can also have some real consequences on your well-being.
Stress is responsible for health problems such as anxiety, depression, digestive issues, heart problems, weight gain, and more.
In order to live a happy life while still doing what it takes to pursue your goals, it is essential to uncover the cause of this worry and learn how to deal with stress.
What may be surprising is that often, it is our own ego that causes us the most anxiety.
How to Deal With Your Ego
When something bad happens, your ego governs your response.
If a person is caught up in their own ego, negative situations can feel especially hurtful, leading to a negative attitude, stress, and worry.
For example, picture a person who thinks that everything has to go exactly according to their plan, or a person who believes that every situation is centered around them. When things go off the rails — which is almost inevitable at some point — it is more difficult for egotistical people to accept this deviation from the plan they expected.
Instead of letting your ego cause you to perceive every negative situation you encounter as a personal assault and cause you high levels of stress, it's important to step back and realize that sometimes bad things happen, and it's how you deal with them that makes all the difference.
To do this, remember the formula E + R = O.
This stands for events, plus your response to those events, equals the outcome. It's not what happens to you, but rather what you tell yourself about it that controls how you feel and what you experience.
This week, I want to you to think about something in your life that may be causing you anxiety. Then step back and look at all the ways that this situation could turn out just fine. Take a deep breath, relax, and try to adopt a positive state of mind.
The truth is that we never know how situations are going to turn out in the end. Sometimes very positive things yield negative outcomes and sometimes negative things yield positive outcomes. There's just no way to know, so there's no need to worry.
If you can start viewing the negative things you are dealing with through this lens, they will have much less impact on your life.
To learn more about how dealing with your ego can help you lead a successful and prosperous life and to put it into action you should attend our 5th batch on Awaken the Genie Within you workshop happening on 13th & 14th Jan 2018 at Hotel Mirage, Andheri.

For now, I'll leave you with this quote:
"Happiness is a choice. You can choose to be happy. There's going to be stress in life, but it's your choice whether you let it affect you or not."
